BA (Honors) Interactive Media Production.
First year my overall mark was a solid 2.1 - My production work was averaging 1sts but my theory work was not quite as strong. I was very pleased with the my results and rather disappointed that it wont be going towards my final degree.
So far i have sustained a pleasing 2.1 grade average and I hope to increase this by the end of this year.
I was at Monkton Combe School an independent Boarding school in Bath. It was a privilege to have gone there, I shall cherish those years for many to come. I do feel that i achieved a terrific amount and even though not particularly academic my results were more than pleasing.
these consisted of.... Photography (A), Maths (C), Physics (D).
I was happy with these results bar the physics as i was only a couple of marks off a C. The sciences were particularly challenging but i was happy to get my Photography as it was such a passion of mine.
AS Level - Design and Technology (C)
I obtained 8 in total. 4 B's and 4 C's
Work Experience
Youth Worker Jan 2008 - Present at St.Andrews Church Charminster, Bournemouth.
This post is two fold, I do community youth work on friday nights that is aimed at the 9-16 year old youth of the charminster area. The church host the youth club that is simply a fun and vibrant yet controlled environment, this includes; football, pool, xbox, burgers and chips, tuck and just great fun really.
The second aspect of the post is holding groups and support for the church youth. I personally take a group of 10-12 year olds on a thursday evening. Other things include Sunday school services and summer camps to Soul Survivor
All in all its extremely rewarding and enjoyable and is even better as it a paid post. Though i would definitely do it either way.
Fundraiser - April 2007 through a calling campaigned that was raising money for a new science and mathematics department at my previous school. I personally raised over £10,000 pounds personally, it was particularly challenging in the area of cold calling but this has strengthened my communication skills.
Technical/Photography Work - 2004 to 2007. I have worked on location with my parents doing technical video and photography work for them. This has mainly included helping with the technical setup and organizing of large scale christian events. most of the photography on www.rfmafrica.com is my work.
About moi
My full name is Timothy Robert Charles West, hence the reason TRCWest.com. It is rather long but when abbreviated as the web address, I think it has rather a nice ring to it. My middle names comes from my granddad's middle names, so a good bit of family history going on there.
I am currently studying at Bournemouth University doing a BA in Interactive Media Production. Have a little look online at what the course offers. It is really great and has a good balance of vocational production work and theory that helps me to at least understand a little more about how media actually works rather than just churning out work.
I am an avid photographer and I particularly like portrait photography along with macro and architecture, so rather mixed I know but it allows me to always have something to capture. Photoshop plays a key role in my digital editing but I do have a special place in my heart for old fashioned black and white developing. Sadly I don't have much access to this at the moment.
I would say my design skills consist of PHP, My-SQL, HTML(all kinds), CSS and Flash. I am learning some Java Script but want to concentrate on the basics first. I have also been learning a program called Unity, which is a 3D Gaming engine.
